Tigers 1, Blue Jays 5. Road moneyline does not cash. Detroit scratched a run in the first on Riley Greene, then Max Scherzer settled in and handed Toronto five innings with one earned. The Blue Jays took the lead in the fourth on Ernie Clement's sac fly and Myles Straw's single, then piled on in the fifth and sixth. George Springer and Nathan Lukes kept the line moving; it finished 1–5. We bought Montero's season against Scherzer's six-handle. Scherzer stole the afternoon — five innings, three hits, one earned. Montero lasted four with two earned and six hits before the bullpen opened the door. The pitcher gap we sold never showed up the way the board had it priced. The fade we named was Toronto stacking early against Montero. They got him in the middle innings instead, and once Scherzer had the lead the plus-money dog had nowhere to go. That half of the script arrived. Yesterday's Over 8 in Washington cashed at nine. Today the dog stalls. We'll get them next time.
