Recap, Sep 15, 2026

Phillies 3, Nationals 6. Nine runs. Over 8 cashes.

Daylen Lile's three-run homer in the seventh turned a 3–3 game into 3–6 and put the total over the number for good. Kyle Schwarber and Andrés Chaparro had traded solo shots in the fifth; the first inning already had three runs on the board before either starter settled.

We bought Kent's WHIP as the soft spot against eight with Sánchez on the other side. Kent lasted five with three earned and three walks — enough traffic. Sánchez did not go quiet either: 6.1 innings, five earned, eight hits. The under needed an ace afternoon from him. It did not get one.

The fade we named was Sánchez going deep and quieting the Nationals. He worked into the seventh and still gave five. Washington kept scoring. That half of the script never arrived.

Yesterday's Giants–Cards over went quiet at three. Tonight nine comes back. We'll take it.
