Recap, Sep 22, 2026
Nationals 3, Tigers 1. Combined total 4. Over 8 at −118 never got close — the number sat untouched all night.
We sold Jackson Kent's walk traffic as the run lever: season WHIP, free baserunners, a home Tigers order ready to cash it. Anderson was the better arm who still would not erase that mess. What played was the fade we named. Both orders went quiet early, the middle stayed clean, and eight was never threatened after the Nationals' run in the second.
Anderson went six, walked nobody, and allowed three earned on five hits with two homers. Enough to lose the ballgame; nowhere near enough to push a total. The Tigers scratched one in the sixth and that was their night. Four runs across nine is the under's script, not a traffic over.
The starter card moved. Riley Cornelio opened for the Nationals and threw 2.2 scoreless; Kent worked the middle four for the win and allowed one run. The season line we leaned on never got the starting runway the thesis priced. Fade that showed: strikes early, middles asleep, Anderson holding the lid. Final board: 3–1, total 4.
