Garrett Mitchell led off the fifth with a triple off Robbie Ray, and Jackson Chourio singled him home off Bradgley Rodriguez for the run that held up. Brewers 3, Padres 1, so Brewers ML at −106 wins, and Milwaukee takes the Division Series 3–1.
Mitchell had singled Sal Frelick home off Walker Buehler in the third, and Fernando Tatis Jr. answered with a solo homer off Robert Gasser in the bottom half. In the sixth, Jake Bauers singled, Cooper Pratt doubled him to third, and Frelick's sacrifice fly made it 3–1. Gasser gave four innings and one run. Aaron Ashby followed with three hitless innings, Abner Uribe took the eighth, and Trevor Megill struck out two in a clean ninth.
San Diego finished with three hits and none after the fourth. Milwaukee outhit them 10 to 3, went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position, and left 10 on base, so the margin stayed thin until the last out.
